Milan became the centre of the fashion world on September 22 as Vogue World 2026: Milano brought celebrities, designers, musicians and models together at the iconic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
Held on the opening day of Milan Fashion Week, the event combined fashion with live entertainment while spotlighting Italian design and traditional craftsmanship. The guest list included names such as Rashmika Mandanna, Jennifer Lopez, Gigi Hadid, Dakota Johnson, Hunter Schafer, Pamela Anderson and Naomi Campbell.
Rashmika Mandanna stood out in a black couture look by Anamika Khanna. The outfit came from Khanna’s Moonlit Palace collection and featured a structured corset, intricate lace work and metallic detailing.
The elaborate creation reportedly took around 350 hours to complete, with extensive handwork contributing to its finished look. Mandanna paired the outfit with Swarovski jewellery, Aquazzura heels and a Gucci bag.
Her appearance added an Indian designer’s perspective to a night largely focused on the heritage of Italian fashion.
Jennifer Lopez arrived in a black Dolce & Gabbana gown featuring sequin embellishments and a voluminous silhouette. She completed the look with sheer opera gloves, turquoise-toned jewellery and pointed footwear.
Lopez was not limited to the red carpet. She later joined the Vogue World presentation, appearing on the runway during the show. Her appearance became one of the evening’s most talked-about celebrity moments.
Gigi Hadid opened the presentation in a gold brocade gown inspired by Italian Renaissance influences. Other notable appearances included Hunter Schafer in Prada and Dakota Johnson in Valentino.
The event also extended beyond fashion. Alicia Keys performed during the finale, while Italian ballet star Roberto Bolle appeared with dancers from La Scala’s academy. The show was designed around the relationship between fashion, culture, craftsmanship and creativity at a time when technology and artificial intelligence are rapidly changing the creative industries.
With its mix of couture, celebrity appearances and live performances, Vogue World 2026 Milan turned one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks into a showcase for both contemporary style and Italian fashion heritage.
