Ram Mandir Trust Meeting Today

The Ram Mandir Donation Theft Case is expected to reach a crucial stage on Monday as the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust convenes a key meeting in Ayodhya. The gathering is likely to focus on the alleged donation theft, review the initial findings of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), and discuss major administrative changes aimed at strengthening the temple’s management system.

The meeting comes amid heightened scrutiny following allegations of irregularities in the handling of temple donations. Questions have been raised over the role of former General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Dr. Anil Mishra, both of whom resigned after the controversy intensified. Their resignations are expected to be one of the first matters taken up for consideration during the meeting.

Donation Theft Case and SIT Investigation

The issue first gained political attention when allegations regarding the theft of temple offerings were raised publicly. In response, the trust maintained that an internal audit was underway and stated that no conclusive evidence of theft had emerged at that stage. However, as demands for an independent investigation grew, the matter prompted the formation of an SIT to examine the allegations.

Based on the preliminary findings of the investigation, police registered an FIR against eight individuals, all of whom have since been arrested. While investigators have recorded statements from Champat Rai, Anil Mishra, and special invitee Gopal Rao, no criminal case has been filed against them so far. The investigation into the alleged financial irregularities is continuing through parallel inquiries by the SIT and the police.

The trust meeting is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. within the Ram Mandir complex. Trust chairman Mahant Nritya Gopal Das is expected to participate virtually due to health concerns. Invitations have been sent to all trustees, while senior officials from both the central and Uttar Pradesh governments are expected to join the discussions through video conferencing. Members associated with the temple construction committee and other religious representatives are also likely to attend.

Management Reforms and Key Decisions

Apart from discussing the donation theft case, the trust is expected to deliberate on reforms aimed at improving financial transparency and administrative efficiency. The appointment of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to oversee the temple’s day-to-day operations is among the proposals that may be discussed as part of a broader restructuring plan.

The Ram Mandir Donation Theft Case has triggered widespread debate over governance and accountability within one of India’s most prominent religious institutions. With the trust’s credibility under close public watch, the decisions taken during Monday’s meeting are likely to influence both the future administrative structure of the temple and public confidence in its financial management.
