The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has issued its first official response to the alleged misappropriation of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said that anyone found guilty during the ongoing investigation should face strict legal action.
He stated that the incident has deeply hurt the faith and emotions of millions of devotees who consider the Ram Temple a symbol of devotion and national pride.
RSS Demands Strict Punishment
Dattatreya Hosabale said the temple represents the sacrifices and dedication of generations of devotees. Referring to the alleged misuse of temple donations, he described the incident as unfortunate and said it has caused widespread concern among worshippers.
He welcomed the Uttar Pradesh government’s decision to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) following the request of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. He stressed that the investigation should be impartial and that those found responsible must receive strict punishment under the law.
Call for Transparency in Temple Administration
The RSS also urged the temple trust to strengthen its financial management and administrative systems. Hosabale said the confusion surrounding the matter should be addressed through a transparent investigation and effective governance.
He expressed confidence that improved financial oversight and accountable management would help restore public trust and maintain the sanctity of the temple.
Appeal for Patience and Unity
Hosabale appealed to the public to remain patient while the investigation is underway. He also urged people not to allow anti-social or anti-national forces to exploit the situation to spread misinformation or create divisions.
According to the RSS, maintaining the trust and faith of devotees should remain the top priority throughout the investigation.
SIT to Re-Audit Financial Records
The Special Investigation Team is expected to conduct a fresh audit of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’s financial records covering the past five years. The review will reportedly examine construction-related expenditures as well as donations received in cash, gold, silver, and other valuables. Investigators are looking into possible financial irregularities, and the findings of the re-audit are expected to determine whether any wrongdoing took place.
The alleged Ram Temple donation case has sparked widespread attention due to its religious significance. With the SIT investigation in progress and the RSS calling for accountability, the focus remains on ensuring transparency, strengthening financial oversight, and protecting the faith of millions of devotees.
