Swiggy Instamart has introduced India’s first on-demand Instamart LPG Cylinder Delivery service in partnership with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), allowing customers in Bengaluru to receive select LPG cylinders in as little as 10 minutes. The initiative expands the scope of quick-commerce beyond groceries and household essentials, bringing cooking gas into the fast-delivery ecosystem.
The pilot service currently offers two HP Gas options—a lightweight 10 kg HP Navya composite cylinder and a 5 kg metal LPG cylinder. Unlike traditional LPG bookings, users do not need an existing HP Gas connection to place an order through Instamart. The service is designed to provide faster access to cooking fuel, particularly for households facing unexpected gas shortages.
Bengaluru Pilot Could Shape Future Expansion
The launch marks a significant step in India’s evolving quick-commerce sector, where platforms are increasingly delivering essential household products within minutes. If the Bengaluru pilot receives a positive response, Instamart and HPCL may consider expanding the service to additional cities across the country.
Industry experts believe the move reflects growing consumer demand for convenience and rapid doorstep delivery of everyday necessities. While pricing details have not been disclosed, the collaboration is expected to improve accessibility to smaller LPG cylinders and strengthen last-mile delivery services for urban customers.
