Apple has finally entered the foldable smartphone race with the launch of its first-ever folding iPhone, named iPhone Duo. Alongside this landmark device, the company has also introduced the iPhone 18 Pro series, the Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and the new AirPods 5, rounding out one of Apple’s biggest product announcements of the year. The iPhone Duo features a book-style folding design with a 5.4-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch inner display when unfolded, giving users a passport-style wide-screen format similar to its Samsung competitor. Apple has built the device with an aerospace-grade titanium frame and Ceramic Shield 2 for added durability. The company says the custom hinge mechanism—built using a variable torque profile, a carbon support plate, and magnets—sets it apart from other foldable handsets on the market.
Under the hood, the iPhone Duo runs on the same A20 Pro chipset found in the iPhone 18 Pro. For photography, it houses a 48-megapixel Fusion main camera paired with a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens. In India, the base 256GB variant is priced at Rs 2,99,900, while the top-end 2TB model costs Rs 4,49,900. The device will be available in Nightsky and Star White colour options, with sales beginning on October 23.
Apple also introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, priced at Rs 1,64,900 and Rs 1,79,900 respectively, with pre-bookings opening on September 12. Both handsets are powered by the new A20 chip, which Apple claims is 30 percent faster and more power-efficient than the A19 Pro used in the iPhone 17 Pro, alongside expanded on-device AI capabilities. The camera setup includes a 48MP Fusion Main sensor with a variable aperture for greater shooting control. On the design front, the Dynamic Island cutout has been made smaller, and the series debuts a new Burgundy colour option.
Apple Watch Series 12, Watch Ultra 4 and AirPods 5: Price and Features
Alongside its smartphones, Apple unveiled the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. The Apple Watch Series 12 starts at Rs 56,900, with the top-end variant priced at Rs 1,24,999. The rugged Apple Watch Ultra 4, aimed at fitness and outdoor enthusiasts, begins at Rs 1,09,900, with its highest configuration priced at Rs 1,24,900.
Apple also launched its new AirPods 5, which the company claims offer best-in-class open-ear active noise cancellation. The standard AirPods 5 are priced at Rs 14,900, while the version bundled with a wireless charging case costs Rs 17,900.
With this lineup, Apple has made a significant push across categories—from its first foldable iPhone to updated wearables and audio devices—giving Indian buyers a wide range of new options ahead of the festive season.
