Early Thursday morning, two masked men pulled up to a gym in Paschim Vihar, West Delhi, on a bike, fired several rounds at the glass facade, and rode away. No one was hurt. But the target was not random. The gym is owned by Punjabi pop star Guru Randhawa, and within minutes of the shooting, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang posted an audio online claiming full responsibility.
What Happened at the Gym
Delhi Police received a PCR call early on June 11 about a firing incident at “24 Hours Fitness,” located in Pushkar Enclave, Paschim Vihar. Two unidentified individuals, their faces covered, opened fire on the gym’s windows before fleeing the scene.
According to police, no injuries were reported. Officers from the local Paschim Vihar East police station reached the spot immediately, secured CCTV footage, and launched a multi-team hunt to identify and arrest the accused. The investigation is ongoing.
“This Is Just a Trailer” – The Gang’s Message
Shortly after the shooting, a viral audio clip and social media post surfaced online in which someone claiming to represent the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took credit for the attack. The voice in the audio reportedly stated that Guru Randhawa was targeted because of his close relationship with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.
The gang reportedly described the gym firing as just a warning, calling it a trailer of what could follow. It is a chilling escalation in the Bishnoi gang’s long-running campaign of threats and attacks targeting those connected to Salman Khan.
Why Guru Randhawa?
Guru Randhawa, known for chart-topping tracks like Ban Ja Rani and Lahore, has been a familiar face in Bollywood circles and is publicly known to share a friendly rapport with Salman Khan. That association appears to be enough for the Bishnoi gang to view him as a target.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has a well-documented and open vendetta against Salman Khan, stemming from the 1998 blackbuck poaching case in which Khan was convicted. The Bishnoi community considers the blackbuck a sacred animal, and the gang has repeatedly threatened the actor and those around him over the years.
Police Verify, Investigate
Delhi Police has stated they are actively examining the authenticity of the viral audio and social media posts claiming gang responsibility. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the message is genuine or an attempt by someone to spread fear by borrowing the gang’s name.
Multiple teams have been deployed to track down the two shooters. CCTV footage from around the Pushkar Enclave area is being analysed. The case has been registered and a full investigation is underway.
A Pattern That Keeps Growing
This attack fits a disturbing pattern. The Bishnoi gang has increasingly targeted not just Salman Khan directly but also his associates, collaborators, and anyone perceived to be in his inner circle. From firing outside Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai to now a gym in Delhi owned by a singer, the gang appears to be widening its net.
What makes this particularly alarming is the gang’s confidence in publicly claiming attacks through social media almost in real time. It signals either extreme audacity, or an attempt to amplify fear beyond the physical act itself.
