India’s athletics squad continued its strong showing as Sarvesh Kushare claimed silver in the men’s high jump. Delivering a confident series of jumps, he remained among the competition’s top performers and ensured another podium finish for the nation.
Weightlifting once again proved to be one of India’s most reliable medal-producing sports. Gyaneshwari Yadav impressed with a silver-medal finish in the women’s 53kg event, while Valluri Ajaya Babu earned silver after a determined display in the men’s 79kg category. Bindyarani Devi added another medal to India’s tally by taking bronze in the women’s 58kg division.
