Flipkart & Amazon Freedom Sale 2026: The Phone Deals Actually Worth Your Money

Freedom Sale 2026

Independence Day sale season is back, and this year Flipkart and Amazon aren’t even waiting for August 15 to roll around. Flipkart’s Freedom Sale opens August 8, with early access from August 7 for Plus and Black members, while Amazon’s Great Freedom Sale kicks off a day earlier on August 7, with Prime members getting in 24 hours before that. If you’ve been sitting on a phone upgrade, this is the window everyone’s been waiting for.

Here’s what’s actually worth paying attention to.

Flipkart Freedom Sale: iPhones, a New Samsung F-Series, and Motorola’s Entire Lineup

The headline deal on Flipkart is the iPhone 17 Pro. It normally retails at Rs 1,34,900, but during the sale it drops to Rs 1,26,900, a flat Rs 8,000 cut that doesn’t even need a bank card. Pull out an SBI or Flipkart Axis Bank credit card and you get another Rs 5,000 off, bringing it down to Rs 1,21,900. Stack in the 5% cashback and EMI perks Flipkart is teasing, and the total savings can go up to Rs 17,000. Older iPhones are getting discounted too, with the iPhone 16 expected around Rs 62,900, the iPhone 16 Plus near Rs 75,900, and the iPhone 15 as low as Rs 55,900.

Samsung, meanwhile, timed a launch to the sale itself. The Galaxy F70 Pro 5G went official on August 3 and will be sold exclusively through Flipkart and Samsung’s own site starting August 8. It comes with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display running at 120Hz, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, a 50MP OIS main camera, and a 6,000mAh battery with 45W charging. Samsung is also promising six years of OS and security updates, which is rare at this price point. The base 6GB/128GB model normally costs Rs 25,999, but as a launch offer tied to the Freedom Sale, it’ll sell for Rs 23,999. The 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants go for Rs 27,999 and Rs 32,999 respectively.

Motorola has also laid out its full sale pricing ahead of time. The Edge 70 Max, the brand’s newest flagship, will go for Rs 49,999, down from Rs 54,999, while the Edge 70 Pro, a solid all-rounder built around a Dimensity 8500 Extreme chip, drops to Rs 36,999. Budget buyers aren’t left out either, with the Moto G37 falling to Rs 12,999 and the Moto G77 Power to Rs 21,999. Even the Razr Fold gets a price cut, down to Rs 1,39,999 from its usual Rs 1,49,999.

Amazon’s Great Freedom Sale: Foldables, Flagships, and a Few Surprises

Amazon isn’t holding back either. The biggest surprise on its list is the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, a phone that only launched a few weeks ago, getting a Rs 9,000 discount to Rs 1,90,999. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is also confirmed for a deal, though Amazon hasn’t revealed the exact price yet.

On the OnePlus side, the OnePlus 15 will sell for Rs 81,999, down from Rs 89,999, while the OnePlus 15R and OnePlus 13s are expected at Rs 56,999 and Rs 49,999 respectively. If you’re eyeing Xiaomi, the Xiaomi 17 comes down to Rs 77,599 when paired with the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank card offer. iQOO fans have two options on the table too: the iQOO 15 at Rs 68,999 and the more affordable iQOO 15R at Rs 46,999.

Beyond these, Amazon has confirmed deals on the OnePlus Nord 5, OnePlus 13, OnePlus N6, Nord CE 6, and the iPhone 16 series, though specific prices for a few of these are still under wraps. On the payments side, HDFC Bank cardholders get a flat 10% instant discount, Amazon Pay UPI users get Rs 150 cashback, and Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card holders get 5% unlimited cashback across the sale.

Should You Wait for August 8, or Jump In Early?

If you’ve got a Flipkart Plus or Black membership, or a Flipkart Axis Bank card, early access kicks in a day before the public sale, and the same goes for Amazon Prime members. Given how quickly stock on flagship deals like the Fold 8 Ultra or the iPhone 17 Pro tends to move, that head start is worth using if you already have it. For everyone else, both sales open within a day of each other, so there’s no real reason to rush a decision between platforms. Just compare the effective price after bank offers before you check out, since that’s usually where the real savings show up.
