Prime Minister Narendra Modi woke up to trending hashtags today. It’s his 76th birthday, and honestly, half of India’s timeline turned into one big greeting card.
From Bollywood A-listers to BJP’s top brass, the wishes started rolling in from early morning on September 17 and haven’t really stopped since.
Bollywood shows up big time
Akshay Kumar kept it simple and on brand. He posted that the day should be marked with a “resolve for service,” urging people to help someone in need instead of just sending greetings. Anupam Kher went the sentimental route, recalling his first meeting with Modi back in his Gujarat CM days in Ahmedabad and calling it genuinely inspiring.

Happy Birthday…
Jackie Shroff, Kangana Ranaut, and musician Ricky Kej also joined in. Kej shared a selfie from an earlier meeting with the PM MODI and thanked him for backing Indian artists and culture. Ranaut, never one to keep it plain, wrote her wishes in Sanskrit.
Politicians pile on, obviously
President Droupadi Murmu led the official greetings, pointing to Modi’s 25 years running a government, first as Gujarat CM and now as PM, and calling it a run full of new benchmarks in governance. Amit Shah wasn’t far behind, praising him for reportedly not taking a single day off in those 25 years.
Happy birthday to PM Narendra Modi ji. Wishing you good health and a long life.

Union Minister Chirag Paswan chose to mark the day in Varanasi, Modi’s own constituency, calling it his good fortune to serve as a minister under this leadership. Bihar BJP chief Sanjay Sarogi echoed the same 25-years-of-service theme from Darbhanga.
Even the opposition got in on it. Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, along with Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, are reported to have sent their own greetings, keeping things civil for a day at least.
Happy Birthday, Prime Minister @narendramodi ji.

It’s not just about the wishes
The BJP isn’t treating this birthday like any other. The party has kicked off its Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, a month-long service campaign running till October 17. Expect fruit distribution drives at hospitals, blood donation camps, and cleanliness initiatives across states. UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak flagged it off from a Lucknow hospital, with more events planned statewide.
Meanwhile, Rajnath Singh, Yogi Adityanath, and Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu paid a visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple to mark the occasion. Gujarat lit up with 76,000 diyas for the milestone, and schools in Delhi were asked to light diyas on campus too.
Between the birthday wishes and the service drive, the day is clearly being framed as less about cake and candles and more about optics tied to Modi’s political legacy.
