According to police, the incident occurred on Monday evening when the girl visited the temple with a 17-year-old male friend. Police said three men allegedly stopped the pair while claiming to be police officers and separated the girl from her companion. The suspects allegedly took her to an isolated part of the park, where she was sexually assaulted.
One accused, identified as Asif, was arrested following a police encounter in southeast Delhi. Police alleged that he opened fire while attempting to escape, and a bullet struck a head constable’s bulletproof jacket. The accused sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and was taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre for treatment. The police have registered a case and are investigating the allegations and the involvement of the other suspects.
Gwalior: Schoolgirl Assaulted While Going to Coaching
In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, a video reportedly showing a schoolgirl being assaulted near Kamla School in the Bhitarwar area has circulated on social media. The girl was on her way to coaching classes when a youth on a motorcycle allegedly stopped her and assaulted her. The incident has also raised allegations of harassment. Police are working to identify those involved. Reports stated that the girl had not filed a formal complaint at the time of publication.
Jamui: Teenagers Harassed and Assaulted
In Bihar’s Jamui district, a separate incident involving two school-going teenagers has also attracted attention after videos of the alleged assault circulated online. The teenagers were returning after coaching classes when a group allegedly stopped them and subjected them to harassment and physical assault. The footage showed the girl being subjected to inappropriate touching while the boy was also assaulted. Police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested three people, while efforts to locate other suspects continued. The incident has prompted demands for accountability and stronger protection for minors in public spaces.
