The movement led by climate activist Sonam Wangchuk entered a crucial phase as supporters launched the ‘Chalo Sansad’ march in Delhi, demanding stronger action on Ladakh’s long-standing constitutional and environmental concerns.

The march, organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and backed by several civil society groups, aimed to take the protesters’ demands closer to Parliament. Security was tightened around the protest route, with Delhi Police maintaining a strong presence to manage the gathering.
Ahead of the march, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke claimed that the Central government had reached out to the organisation for the first time since the protest began. While no formal breakthrough has been announced, organisers described the communication as a positive step, saying the next move now depends on the government’s response.

Meanwhile, Wangchuk’s protest has continued to inspire wider participation. Three students, Neha Bora, Manish Kumar, and Ameen Amitoj, have joined the hunger strike, expressing solidarity with the campaign and calling for urgent action on the issues raised by the activist.
Opposition leaders and activists also extended support to the protest, urging the Centre to engage in meaningful dialogue instead of allowing tensions to escalate further.
