Aban Ahmed, the youngest son of former gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed, died in a road accident on Thursday after the SUV he was travelling in met with a serious crash near Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.
Police said the vehicle was heading towards Jhansi when it rammed into a road divider. Preliminary findings suggest the SUV was moving at a high speed before the driver lost control, leading to the collision. The exact cause of the accident will be confirmed after the investigation is completed.
Aban was reportedly travelling to Jhansi to meet his elder brother, Ali Ahmed, who is currently lodged in the district jail. The impact of the crash was severe, causing extensive damage to the vehicle.

The accident also claimed the life of another passenger travelling in the SUV. Three additional occupants suffered injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Their condition is being monitored by doctors.
Local police and emergency teams reached the spot soon after receiving information about the accident. Officials secured the area, rescued the injured, and began examining the circumstances that led to the crash. Authorities are expected to review evidence and statements as part of the ongoing inquiry.
The incident marks another tragic development for the family of Atiq Ahmed. Over the past few years, the family has remained in the spotlight following multiple high-profile criminal cases and violent incidents, including the deaths of Atiq Ahmed, his brother Ashraf, and his son Asad.
Investigators have not reported any signs of foul play so far, and the case is currently being treated as a road accident. More information is expected once the police complete their investigation.
