As Peace and Prosperity Return to Kashmir, Terrorists and Their Supporters Seek to Disrupt It: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that as Kashmir witnesses a resurgence of peace, stability, and development, there are renewed attempts by terrorists and their backers to disturb the hard-won progress. Speaking at a recent public event, the Prime Minister emphasised that the valley, once known for turmoil, is now steadily transforming into a region of hope and opportunity.

“In the past few years, the people of Kashmir have experienced a notable improvement in daily life, with peace paving the way for prosperity,” PM Modi said. “Tourism has flourished, businesses have revived, and the youth are looking towards a brighter future. However, there are forces that are uncomfortable with this progress and are trying to pull the region back into darkness.”

He highlighted that the number of terror incidents has significantly dropped, and investments in infrastructure and education have seen a major boost. The Prime Minister credited the efforts of security forces, local administrations, and most importantly, the resilient spirit of the Kashmiri people for this positive change.

However, PM Modi also warned against complacency, stressing that vigilance must continue to ensure the gains are not undone. “The enemies of peace are not only those holding guns but also those who, sitting across the border, fund and encourage unrest. Our commitment is to protect every inch of our motherland and ensure the development journey of Kashmir remains unstoppable,” he added.

The Prime Minister reiterated his government’s dedication to building a “New Kashmir” where every citizen enjoys equal opportunities, safety, and prosperity. He also appealed to the youth to stay away from destructive forces and instead contribute to the region’s ongoing transformation.

With security tightened and development projects underway, the message from the Centre is clear: Kashmir’s future lies in peace, progress, and unity — not in conflict.
