The US presidential elections are underway to elect the 46th President. The US has voted in record numbers this year – with over 100 million votes cast during early voting – reflecting intense interest in the battle between the two candidates — Democrat Joe Biden and Republican Donald Trump
As Americans head to the polls to elect the next president of the United States of America, Hollywood’s biggest stars have been coming out in large numbers to not only cast their vote but also to reveal their Presidential endorsement.
Singer Lizzo shared a lengthy post and wrote, “When I think of this country I don’t think of its laws I think of its people. I think about how we were raised to be patriotic of violence, propaganda & war. I think about how this country is owned by the oppressor and how the oppressed are locked in a valley of capitalism. But I also think of the young people who refuse to be spoon-fed mistruths. I think of the elders who bucked against hateful prejudices even when it felt impossible…. Because of you, I’m still hopeful. I believe in a country that teaches the true history so we can better understand where we live and how we can do better. I believe in a country that listens to the cries of the protester and doesn’t politicize death. I believe in restoration of this beautiful land and respecting the communities of people who owned America before colonizers renamed it. We the people, ALL the people, deserve it. Today’s the last day to vote. Stay in line, stay determined and thank YOU for voting.”
stassie karanikolaou shared her photo with her 9.5m insta fam and wrote, ” it’s election day! today is your final chance to make sure your voice is heard ? vote for people who can’t.. if i can go vote with a broken leg so can you”
‘Avengers’ stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Rufflao, director-duo Joe and Anthony Russo, banded together not only to help raise funds for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, but also encouraged their fans to cast their votes.
Honored to be on the cover V127: The Thought Leaders Issue. “I think we are on the cusp of a really motivated, driven generation of young people who are very awake and connected. It’s such a platitude, but they really are the future. It’s always the students, isn’t it? Whether it was the civil rights in the ‘60s or today, it’s always young people [working toward change]. With every younger generation, they care less and less about the archaic social norms that people before them are trying to preserve. Now, more than ever, young people are involved in shaping the political and social landscape. It really is like a potter’s wheel and these young voices are molding our future.’ Photo by @inezandvinoodh Interview by @owenmyers BE HEARD! VOTE!!! @plus1vote @vmagazine
Selena Gomez share a cute of her chat with harris and wrote, “Chat with Kamala Harris I had the opportunity to speak with Senator @kamalaharris and we discussed several issues that matter. Here is a clip of us discussing the importance of voting and supporting people with mental health issues. There is too much on the line this election for anyone to sit on the sidelines. We all must use our voices and vote. Vote EARLY, vote safely and try to vote in person or drop your ballot in a dropbox (that’s what I did and it couldn’t have been any easier). If you aren’t voting in person, please make sure you follow the instructions that come with your ballot carefully and do not forget to sign your ballot (it’s usually smart to use a blue or black ballpoint ink pen)! Jennifer Aniston voted for @joebiden and @kamalaharris.#IVOTED for @joebiden and @kamalaharris. I dropped my ballot off, and I did it early ?? I voted for them because right now this country is more divided than ever. Right now, a few men in power are deciding what women can and can’t do with their own bodies. Our current President has decided that racism is a non-issue. He has repeatedly and publicly ignored science… too many people have died.
I urge you to really consider who is going to be most affected by this election if we stay on the track we’re on right now… your daughters, the LGBTQ+ community, our Black brothers and sisters, the elderly with health conditions, and your future kids and grandkids (who will be tasked with saving a planet that our leadership refuses to believe is hurting).
This whole thing isn’t about one candidate or one single issue, it’s about the future of this country and of the world. Vote for equal human rights, for love, and for decency.
