The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) continued its nationwide protest on Friday, July 24, with demonstrations centred around demands for accountability over examination-related issues and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The protest movement, which has gained significant support among students and young people, remained active despite government efforts to open dialogue with its representatives.
CJP representatives held discussions with government officials as tensions continued to build over the protesters’ demands. The government was reported to have shown a positive response to two of the protesters’ demands but sought additional time to respond to the demand for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.

The protesters, however, maintained that their nationwide campaign would continue. The movement has emerged as a major platform for student concerns, particularly over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, paper leaks and the broader issue of accountability in the education system.
The protest has also become a major political issue during the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament. Opposition parties have raised concerns over the treatment of student protesters and are seeking answers from the government on the developments surrounding the demonstrations.
The CJP’s campaign has attracted widespread attention across the country, with supporters organising protests in different locations. In Delhi, Jantar Mantar remained a key centre of the movement, where protesters continued to press for action from the government. The government has already announced measures aimed at addressing examination-related irregularities, including faster legal proceedings and stricter action against those involved in paper leaks. However, protesters argue that such measures alone are insufficient and have continued to demand greater accountability and concrete action.
The talks between the government and CJP representatives have opened a possible channel for negotiations, but the standoff remains unresolved. The protesters have indicated that their nationwide campaign will continue until their key demands, including action against those responsible for examination irregularities and accountability at the ministerial level, are addressed.
