Dua Lipa paid tribute to Amy Winehouse on the red carpet of the 2021 Brit Awards, channeling the late singer’s signature hairstyle (May 11).
With a beehive hairstyle and a thigh-scraping yellow Vivienne Westwood Couture corset mini dress, the three-time nominee, 25, walked the red carpet at the 2021 BRIT Awards in sensational, head-turning style.
Winehouse wore a yellow over-the-shoulder minidress with a long train, black tights, and platform booties to the 2007 Brit Awards. Her family will auction off Winehouse’s classic yellow Preen minidress ahead of the 10th anniversary of her death in July.
Amy’s canary yellow gown by Preen, for which she won the Best Female Solo Artist award at the 2007 festival, was remarkably similar.
Lipa is nominated for three Brit Awards this year, including album of the year (dubbed “Mastercard album”) for Future Nostalgia, British single for “Physical,” and female solo artist. With Arlo Parks, Celeste, Joel Corry, and Young T & Bugsey, she is in a five-way tie for first place.
The chart-topping singer accessorized with black suspenders and lace-up statement purple platform heels.
The only artist nominated for both the top album and single awards is the English pop star.
The 2021 Brit Awards will be broadcast live from London’s O2 Arena on the Brit Awards YouTube channel beginning at 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday. The show is shown on ITV and ITV Hub in the United Kingdom.
