The fastest Indian batsman to score 1,000 test runs is Rishabh Pant on Tuesday. Pant hit the landmark in his 27th inning, smashing the 32-inning mark of former Indian captain MS Dhoni.
On the fifth day of the fourth test against Australia at Brisbane Pant passed the 1000-run mark in India’s second innings. The Border-Gavaskar series is on track as the four-game series is 1-1 with both teams in the last test.
Pant arrived at No. 5 in front of Mayank Agarwal, as India stayed in the hunt to chase down Australia’s 328-run target. The only Indian wicket-keeper batsman to hit centuries in both England and Australia is Pant, who made his Test debut against England in 2018.
Pant proved why he is one of the most dangerous batsmen, never letting the pace drop and maintaining the heat on Australia, who wanted nothing less than a victory to deter India from retaining the Gavaskar Boundary Trophy.
Wow. WOW.

India defeated Australia.
India defeated Australia at its own home for the second time in a Test series. India beat Australia 2-1 at home for the final time in the 2018-19 Test series. The Indian team scored a hat-trick of victories in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the third straight season. India claimed the final two series earlier and grabbed the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In the previous Australia tour in 2018/19, India went 2-1 and before that, in 2016/17, India had beaten Australia at home by a comparable margin.
It is the first time Australia has been beaten in 32 years. This win means so much more, and it has come at ‘Fortress Gabba’ Australia’s last loss at Gabba was at the hands of the West Indies in 1988.

Every time we got hit, we stayed put & stood taller. We pushed boundaries of belief to play fearless but not careless cricket. Injuries & uncertainties were countered with poise & confidence. One of the greatest series wins!
