Govinda just walked into the messiest season of Indian reality TV and made it messier in about ten seconds flat.
Netflix dropped a new promo for Lock Upp 2 on Thursday, and it’s got everyone talking. The actor is stepping into the show as a guest, and this time it’s personal, his wife Sunita Ahuja is actually a contestant this season.
Farah Khan welcomes him in, and within seconds Govinda drops the line that is now all over social media. He jokes about carrying a “bullet” in his pocket, a callback to something Sunita said earlier in the show, when she joked that if she ever shot him, she would aim for his chest and not his leg. Govinda’s comeback is basically a dare, telling her to go ahead and take the shot.
If that sounds oddly specific, it is. In 2024, Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg while handling his licensed revolver at home and needed emergency surgery. Two years on, the couple is joking about it on national television. Make of that what you will.

The Marriage Drama Behind the Punchline
The comedy is doing a lot of covering up. During the premiere, Sunita made some pretty heavy claims about their marriage, saying Govinda had multiple affairs and that a third person had gotten involved. She has also gone on record defending him hard, telling co-contestant Ram Kapoor that it does not matter how many affairs he has had, he is still her husband and that is that. Separation rumours have followed the couple for a while now, but neither has confirmed anything officially.
So when Govinda shows up smiling and cracking bullet jokes, it reads less like comic relief and more like two people using humour to dodge the conversation everyone actually wants them to have.

Judgement Day Brings the Receipts for Everyone
Govinda’s entry lands on the show’s “Judgement Day” episode, and he is not the only one getting grilled. Farah and Riteish call out contestant Akanksha Choudhary for her explosive in-house behaviour, including throwing a mattress and slippers, and it does not quite land when she puts it down to simply being angry. Shilpa Shinde also gets questioned over her food demands. On top of that, the public jury delivers its verdict this episode, and actor Gaurav Khanna shows up too, meeting his estranged wife Akanksha Chamola after her own divorce bombshell during the premiere.
Basically, everyone’s ex, spouse or almost-spouse is walking into this house at some point.
Lock Upp 2 has been streaming on Netflix since June 27, and if this promo is anything to go by, judgement day is about to get personal for a lot more than one couple.
