Lock Upp 2 Premiered on Netflix and Delivered Chaos Before the First Episode Even Ended

Lock Upp 2 premiere

Lock Upp is back. New platform — Netflix. New hosts — Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh. Same brutal format: confess something real or get sent to jail. Season 2, officially titled Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, kicked off on June 27, and in one single premiere episode it produced enough drama to last a regular reality show an entire season.

Fifteen contestants. Six weeks of no outside contact. A Rs 1 crore prize. And a format that strips away every carefully built public image. Here is everything that went down on night one.

Ram Kapoor Walked In With Baggage and Shreya Kalra Was Not Letting It Go

Earlier this year, veteran TV actor Ram Kapoor made a remark comparing his exhausting filming schedule to gangrape. It went viral immediately, triggered widespread backlash, and followed him straight into the Lock Upp house.

Farah told him on camera that a lot of his own fans were disturbed by it. Riteish added that public figures carry a responsibility with the language they use. Kapoor said he regretted it and had already apologised to the media, but framed it as humour rather than offering a fresh, direct apology. That answer did not go down well with social media influencer Shreya Kalra, who confronted him face-to-face and refused to accept it as closure.

Kapoor declined to pick Shreya as his cellmate. She said it hurt. The argument stretched on until Farah intervened and pulled things back. Online, the reaction was divided — a chunk of viewers praised Shreya for holding a senior celebrity accountable in public, while others felt she pushed it well past the point and was more interested in her own screen time than accountability. Either way, Farah Khan reportedly looked genuinely stunned at multiple points during the exchange.

Akanksha Chamola Announced Her Divorce and Didn’t Flinch

Gaurav Khanna won Bigg Boss 18. His wife Akanksha Chamola entered Lock Upp 2. And on her very first night, she told the room — and by extension the entire country — that the two of them are getting divorced and have been living separately for some time. Her words: people don’t know about this yet.

Gaurav had spoken warmly and openly about their marriage in past media appearances, making this revelation particularly jarring for fans who had followed them as a couple. Akanksha also said she has no interest in looking for love again and is done explaining herself — whether it is her bold acting choices or the dance videos that previously drew criticism. She entered the house with clarity about who she is now and what she will not apologise for.

The Splitsvilla Ex-Drama Walked Right Through the Front Door

If the Harshad and Akanksha Chamola moments were about personal pain, the Splitsvilla storyline was about unfinished drama arriving with a carry-on bag. Akanksha Choudhary — model, influencer, first runner-up at Miss Rajasthan 2023 — had a turbulent, heavily watched journey on Splitsvilla X6 alongside Yogesh Rawat. Both are now confirmed Lock Upp 2 contestants. Both are under the same roof.

Akanksha had said before entering the show that Splitsvilla left her dealing with real mental health struggles, and that she was approaching Lock Upp as a completely different version of herself — a reset, not a continuation. It lasted about ten minutes. Uorfi Javed arrived as a wildcard entry and immediately brought up a girl nicknamed Ruru and allegations that Yogesh had been dishonest with her before Splitsvilla. Yogesh cut in, calling it a situationship, not a relationship. Shreya Kalra stepped into the middle of it. Within minutes, there was a three-way argument that had nothing to do with the Lock Upp format and everything to do with Splitsvilla receipts.

Farah shut it down. She reminded all three of them — firmly — that they were no longer on a dating show and that the point was to play Lock Upp, not replay their last season. The clip, predictably, is all over social media.

Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa is streaming now on Netflix. If one premiere episode produced a cheating confession that broke the internet, a confrontation over a deeply offensive joke, a public divorce reveal, and a three-person meltdown — it is fair to say the next six weeks are not going to be quiet.
