You might be saying, “Hey, thanks universe, but I’m done feeling scared/terrified/even mildly horrified forever.” And that would be a perfectly rational place to take in life. We’ve all experienced a bunch of classic horror film plots in the last year and change. So, as we said, if the uncertainty quotient for the next decade or so has been fulfilled by the real world, it is understandable. But if you’re the kind of individual who still needs to experience some occasional, managed, and most importantly, fictional thrills and scares, that’s also entirely real, and 2021 is here to go.

1. The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

The Conjuring franchise’s third film centers on a murder victim who becomes the first person to claim demonic possession in court as their defense. The film is based on the real-life case of the murder trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, also known as “Devil Made Me Do It” which took place in Connecticut in 1981. In the United States, the trial was the only one where the suspect pleaded demonic possession for the murder.

2.  A Quiet Place Part II

The Abbott family continues their battle against the creatures who are noise-sensitive and are forced to venture into the wild beyond their farm’s protection.

3. Don’t Breathe 2

The Blind Man is back and the orphaned child has now been adopted. They remain together in his cabin in peace until the girl is stolen by a gang of robbers, causing him to abandon his cabin and set out to rescue her.

4. Candyman

The housing developments in Chicago’s Cabrini Green neighborhood are plagued by a horror story involving a mysterious murderer with a hook for a hand. According to legend, someone who chants his name five times in a mirror will summon a murderer. This movie is a sequel to the script that Candyman and Jordan Peele co-wrote in 1992.

5. Morbius

Not as frightening as the others on this page, Morbius is based on a Marvel Comics superhero. The character is a living vampire who initially appeared as a Spider-Man villain in the Marvel comics. This Marvel movie is about a genius scientist with a mysterious illness of the blood who attempts to heal himself… but basically ends up transformed into a vampire.
